Day 1
Portorosa has the largest marina in Sicily – and one of the best equipped in Italy - offering haulage, storage and bunker services, as well as a commercial services centre, making it an ideal starting point for your journey. When the evening hits, there are plenty of trendy bars and restaurants by the coastline, offering a lively, buzzing nightlife.
Day 2
Sailing in an easterly direction for 10 NM from Portorosa you will reach Milazzo. The old town centre has a number of notable ancient churches and buildings, including the impressive Castello di Milazzo, and the rock church of St Antonio di Padua.
Day 3
About 30 NM north of Sicily are the Eolian Islands, a cluster of seven volcanic islands that have become increasingly popular during the summer months. Surrounded by clear blue waters, the breathtaking mountains are the ideal place to escape the hustle and bustle of the mainland, and taking in the beautiful undeveloped scenery.
Day 4
Visit the markets in Lipari, the largest island in the group with a developed town. Sailing in a northwesterly direction you reach Salina, which has several chic boutiques and museums. Panarea, to the east, is the smallest and most fashionable island, which has a number of bars, restaurants and a nightclub, and is especially popular during the summer months. Vulcano and Stromboli are the only two active volcano islands, and are worth hiking up to view the craters.
Day 5
Return 27 NM south to Portorosa.
