Rent a Motorboat in Cyclades With Skipper

Motorboat Hire in Cyclades With Skipper

What’s better than renting a motorboat in the Cyclades? It’s when you rent a motorboat in the Cyclades with a skipper!

Having a skipper means you don’t need to worry about where the boat should be heading or finding the best spots. A skipper knows the spots that others don’t and will show you them. With over 200 islands in the Cyclades, you’re probably not going to find these spots yourself!

The great thing about renting a motorboat in Cyclades with skipper is that it means anyone can enjoy this approach to holidaying. Although you don’t need a license to pilot a small motorboat, anything with more than 30hp does need a license. If you haven’t got one a skipper will enable you to enjoy the pleasure of cruising across the open water and really exploring these impressive islands.

It’s important to be aware that the wind does pick up in the Cyclades, in July and August you’ll often find winds can be as strong as gale force 5-7, occasionally they’ll even hit force 8. This is because, despite being sat between Greece and Turkey, the islands are not protected by any mainland mass.

Inexperienced sailors, even those renting motorboats, may prefer to avoid July and August and visit the Cyclades when the wind is calmer and the weather still warm, such as May, June, and even September.

With a skipper showing you the way and your own itinerary for your trip, you won’t be short of things to do.

Santorini is a great place to start, it’s got the classic, picture-perfect Greek island look, and feel, you can spend a day just taking pictures on and off the island.

With a motorboat you’re not limited to just one island, you can visit as many as you want or as many as you can fit in.

It is important to head to the center of the Cyclades, the island of Delos is steeped in mythology and history. In the past, it was an important destination and is reputed to be the birthplace of Apollo and Armetus. You’ll find a truly impressive number of ruins, a testimony to its rich heritage and the building skills employed hundreds of years ago.

Once you’ve been inspired by Delos take time to enjoy the party spirit of Mykonos before heading toward Paros, famous for beautiful sandy beaches. You’ll find some true gems when searching by boat!

It’s worth checking out the capital of Paros, Parikia, and the remote island village of Lefkes, where you’ll get some stunning views of the sea, and perhaps your motorboat.

Spare a little time to check out Naxos, the largest of the Cyclades, the old district of Kastro is worth a look, as is the 10-meter high statue of Dionysus. You can even hike to the top of Mount Zeus, the highest point on this island.

At the other end of the scale, Syros is the smallest island in the group, but also the most heavily populated.  There are some interesting architectural gems here plus a large number of churches and monasteries. You’ll also want to check out the golden sandy beaches. However, several, such as Finikas get exceptionally busy, you may prefer to see them from your boat and then find your own spot

Don’t forget, we’re here to help with anything you need and reassure you that every one of our motorboats is tested to a high standard. With a skipper, you literally won’t have to worry about a thing.
