From Salerno Marina you can explore the Gulf of Naples, sail Amalfi, cruise Capri on a sailboat, and reach the Aeolian Islands
The base in Salerno is located in a corner of the commercial harbor of Salerno. Except for winds from the third quadrant, the 117-berth harbor is very safe and easy to navigate. It is very close to the city of Salerno, and can be reached by either flying into Naples or by train: Salerno is the last stop of the Frecciarossa high-speed train.
Salerno is a strategic departing spot for boats sailing towards the Amalfi coast, the island of Capri, the Natural Park of Cilento and the Aeolian Archipelago -- although to reach the island of Stromboli, it takes about 15 hours of straight sailing.
The harbor is an easy, 20-minute walk from the train station, and this entire area is set to undergo a full renovation. At the moment of writing, however, some facilities--like bathrooms and a formal reception--are not yet available, and due to the works in progress the site appears a little messy. On the other hand, the offered fleet is one of the largest in Italy, thanks to a joint agreement reached by the different charter companies in the area.
The closes bases to Salerno marina are Napoli Darsena Acton and Porto Turistico Castellammare
